Max Associates site visit with Reading Borough Council
On Wednesday 6th July Nicky and Claire from Max Associates were invited, by Reading Borough Council, to visit two sites under construction. The sites, Rivermead Leisure Complex and Palmer Park in Reading are part of the 25-year DBOM contract awarded to GLL and partners in 2020.
Max Associates were originally appointed by the Council in 2016 to support in the development of their strategic outcomes for leisure, which led to feasibility projects for significant developments for Rivermead and Palmers Park. Once the developments were agreed, a competitive DBOM procurement process was undertaken to find a suitable consortium to construct and then manage the centres.
Nicky Turnbull, Consultant said; ‘It’s great to see something developed as part of a feasibility, come to life and the two major projects will make such a difference to the community”.
Claire Elkin, Research Consultant went on to say, “it was great being shown the site at this stage by Dominic Bennett from Reading Borough Council, we look forward to seeing the centres when they open.”
