Royal Borough residents to benefit from upgraded sport and leisure facilities across Windsor and Maidenhead this Spring
Leisure Focus has been awarded the contract to drive improvements across Royal Borough leisure centres, including Furze Platt Leisure Centre, Cox Green Leisure Centre, Windsor Leisure Centre, Braywick Leisure Centre, Charters Leisure Centre and Dedworth Community Leisure Centre.
Max Associates was commissioned to support and advise the Council through the procurement process to secure a new operator for the six leisure centres over a 15-year contract.
Lisa Forsyth, Managing Director of Max Associates said: “We were delighted to work with the Council to provide support and advice to secure a contract the Council was pleased with and met their key criteria.
This new 15-year contract includes a complete rebrand of the gyms at Braywick Leisure Centre, Furze Platt, Charters and Cox Green Leisure Centres, with new sports facilities added at Dedworth Middle School. Additional updates include a new soft play area, more studio spaces at Braywick, extended hours at Cox Green, and the introduction of new Padel courts at Windsor.”
As a charity, Leisure Focus Trust will reinvest any profits back into the local facilities, benefiting Borough residents.
In line with the Council’s goal to promote healthy and independent living, the Leisure Focus team will collaborate with partners to enhance the community’s health and wellbeing, attract more users to all sites, and encourage active lifestyles. This will include initiatives such as offering discounted membership rates to underrepresented groups.
Mark Camp-Overy, Leisure Focus Chief Executive, added: “We’re absolutely delighted to have been awarded the contract to act as the Royal Borough’s leisure operating agent for an initial 15-year term. We look forward to making an even more positive impact within the community.
“Whilst we have managed the centres on a short-term basis, we’ve seen a significant increase in footfall across all areas and were overwhelmed by the positive feedback from the community on the improvements we have made so far, including the launch of the new Windsor Club Gym and Health Suite.
“In partnership with the Council, we can now invest more into the facilities and have a range of exciting projects in the pipeline to enhance the customer experience for visitors at all six centres.”
