Max Associates wins North Northamptonshire Council contract to develop Leisure Strategic Framework
Further to a competitive bid Max Associates has been appointed to work with North Northamptonshire Council to develop a suite of new key strategies. These strategies; Active Communities Strategy, Leisure Facilities Strategy and Playing Pitch Strategy will form a comprehensive Leisure Strategic Framework which will connect leisure and health to help create a more active and healthier community within North Northants. The project will also include a Future Leisure Management Options Appraisal.
Kirsty Winders, Director said: “We are delighted to have been appointed and look forward to starting and working collaboratively with the Council to support and produce an overarching strategic framework for how sport, physical activity and leisure meets the needs of local communities. We intend to utilise our previous experience of working with Unitary Councils to help the Council meet its overall objectives sustainably and within the given timeframes.”
Since becoming a unitary authority in April 2021, North Northamptonshire Council has identified the requirement for a clear strategic vision for leisure and physical activity for the Council. The collection of documents forming the North Northamptonshire Active Communities Framework aspires to connect leisure and health and will help the Council prioritise and confirm its commitment and direction to leisure in the future.
The project aims to bring together strategic partners across Local Authority, Health, Education, Community Services and Community Safety functions, with local sporting and community clubs, leisure providers, alongside local community representatives to achieve this and adopt the single vision.
