Max Associates Moves More in August Challenge raises over £600 for MNDA
Max Associates decided to help raise money again for Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA) a charity close to Max Associates after founder of the company Mark Steward fought motor neuron disease, sadly passing away in June 2023.
With increasing physical activity at the heart of the work that we do, colleagues felt it would be beneficial to be more active themselves. Inspired by the national MNDA run 60 miles in August challenge, the company sponsored employees for every mile they ran, cycled, walked or swum donating money to MNDA and allowing time in the workday to be active.
During August the team raised £601 through a combined effort of running, cycling, walking and swimming, clocking up an impressive 690 miles in total. The team comprised of Lisa Forsyth, Kirsty Winders, Nicky Turnbull, Greg Chesters, Claire Elkin, Sarah Gilvey and Toby Gardner.
Lisa Forsyth, Managing Director at Max Associates said; “MNDA is a cause close to our team and we are delighted to have raised over £600 for MNDA an incredible charity focused on improving access to care, research and campaigning for those people living with or affected by MND. It was great to see everyone at Max Associates get behind the August move more challenge and going the extra mile.”
Max Associates and Mark’s family and friends continue to fundraise in memory of Mark and to help find a cure for this terrible disease. The work team completed a 50k walk in a day to raise money last year and Bridget and Lisa completed Ride London bike ride in May 2024. The family have set up a fundraising page, all donations will go straight to the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA) – Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association
